Activity 2: Standard Measurement

Let's Measure the Objects in Our Class!



This is an activity that can be done at any classroom or at home, all you need is a ruler, measuring tape and some child friendly scale. We are going to learn how to measure length, width, height and weight of objects in the classroom . Since this activity requires energy and lots of moving around, it is likely to interest children at this age and keep them excited. 

Objective:  

Students will learn the use of different standard measurement tools. 

Activity: 


Conduct a demonstration on measuring objects within the classroom using standard measurement units such as ruler, measuring tape and scale.  
Conduct a group activity where the students have to measure different objects use those tools and complete an activity sheet where they have to note down their measurements and also compare them with one another.
